I've had a pattern made to produce the vee-shaped front bars and have produced several extras to help recover my pattern costs. The ash tidy has been cast from an original, making it 1/4" narrower width ways but still a snug fit. Please note that it does not feature the Greek Key pattern but is nevertheless compatible with fireplaces having that design. The pressed metal name plates are unavailable.
LATEST NEWS: NOW AVAILABLE......... A small run of surface-mounted hinges for the inner doors. Likewise for the rear-mounted hinges. 6mm sheet steel repair plates (minus lugs) for the top and base plates. In addition, I have a pair of newly cast top and bottom plates in cast iron. As yet they are undrilled and are fractionally smaller than the original (damaged) castings. Dimensions can be provided but I'm hopeful that shimming with thin sheet steel and asbestos tape will take up the 'slack.' My friend the pattern maker has decided to retire so this is likely be the end of any further innovations, sadly. MADE IN BRITAIN BY A TOP NOTCH FOUNDRY. |
PRICES: Front vee-shaped bars as shown.£98 (Available) Cast iron ash tidy. Undrilled and untapped. £29. (Now back in stock.) A small run of brass beehive knobs now available. Undrilled and untapped. £8.50. On the left are some shots of a new RHS middle inner door together with its separate inner blanking plate. The last photo' shows a bottom RHS inner door with an integral liner. The casting detail is very good in my opinion but the top and bottom hinges would benefit from some careful attention. STOP PRESS I have just two new bottom grates cast from originals, hence they are fractionally smaller. Strangely enough one grate stands higher than the other. I can't provide any suitable ash trays.as yet. I have recently acquired three complete original Eagle Grates. However I need a bottom RHS door as well as a middle RHS door with the floral / aesthetic pattern. . Can you help please? I do have a spare pair of the large outer doors with inner tile supports as a possible trade. Meanwhile I'll plod on with the renovation. Slow but worthwhile work! [email protected] |
